Their our very own version of the classic American ready-to-eat, high in protein, air dried, delicious beef snack. Original Jerky is made using carefully selected joints of lean topside beef of the highest quality from our approved suppliers. During the marinating process they use their very own secret recipe of natural herbs and spices that are carefully roasted and ground on our premises.
There are two main differences between Jerky and Biltong. Firstly, soy sauce is used during the marinating process for Jerky, instead of the traditional malt vinegar for Biltong. Secondly, Jerky is dried at a slightly higher temperature in comparison to the low heat, slower Biltong drying process. The meat pieces are slowly air dried to perfection, cut to size and then packed in a protected atmosphere. It takes a huge 280g of freshly marinated beef to make just 100g of Original Jerky with a huge 60g of protein per 100g portion!
The Biltong Company Original Beef Jerky is totally lean and will have a Well Done consistency, as all the moisture has been removed during the drying process. Please be aware it is quite a tough chew. Just the way it’s supposed to be!

Biltong is a delicious ready-to-eat, high in protein, air dried 100% beef snack with South African origins. The Biltong Company products are made using carefully selected joints of topside beef of the highest quality from approved suppliers. All meats have passed the highest of standards and are all fully traceable.
Made from the leanest topside beef joints available. It is more expensive than the traditional silverside beef used but a lot leaner and a lot more tender.
The beef joints are hand cut to size according to the specific type of biltong being made.
Slowly air dried for up to 4 days till perfection and then packed in a protected atmosphere for up to 5 months shelf life.
